New Honda Activa 8G Launched: New Features, Changes Of Design and Mileage

25 July 2025 | New Delhi

Honda has finally unveiled the new Activa 8G in India, the competitive update of its most trusted and the best selling range of scooters. Activa has a dominant presence in the Indian two-wheeler scenario and it is still surging in the market with this new variant of Activa 8G. Although the overall styling is virtually the same, the 8G is aimed at improved comfort, fine-tuning of the performance, and cosmetic changes. In India, the two-wheeler is already in sale in Honda dealerships.

The highlight of what is new in Honda Activa 8G?

Honda Activa 8G, unsurprisingly, is not much different than its predecessor when it comes to design, but comes up with a new look, due to the use of new color schemes, improved seating ergonomics, and slightly modified body sections. The same design to the front apron garnish that has the signature chrome finish also returns, however with a shinier coat. The LED headlamp is updated in order to have a better visibility at low light situations.

Honda too has enhanced the plastic and the instrument console. The 8G still has the semi-digital unit but the display is improved to produce much clearer readouts and friendlier to the eyes. Handlebar switchgear has been upgraded and has a higher quality look and feel than the previous generation.

Mileage and Engine

Activa 8G comes with single cylinder air-cooled engine of 109.51cc that is also possessed by the Activa 7G. But Honda has re-tuned the motor to have more fuel efficiency and the power delivery is smoother as well. This BS6 Phase 2 engine will now have OBD2 support which will allow them to detect and warn the rider about any emission related problems.

Its scooter generates 7.79 bhp and 8.84 nm of power. As claimed by Honda, the Activa 8G offers a better mileage of about 60km/l (in the standard test conditions) which might mean about 50-55km/l in the real life conditions as well.

Suspension, Braking and Comfort

Activa 8G has the tried-and-tested telescopic fork in the front and 3 step adjustable spring-loaded hydraulic arrangement at the rear. It retains 130mm drum brakes on both sides of the car but with safety being put into consideration in case of any emergency stop the system has the safety of Honda as Combi-Braking system (CBS).

Honda has also perfected the suspension by making it have a softer ride particularly on rough roads. The cushioning of the seats is more dense to offer a better comfort in the backseat. Luggage capacity underneath the seat has not been altered and it has the capability of holding 18 liters of clothes, other items. The external fuel fill top remains a functional option.

Price and variations

There are two major variants of the Activa 8G namely Standard and Deluxe. The price of the Standard form is 77,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the price of the Deluxe form where extra touches of chrome and colors are provided is 79,500. There might be a slight variance in the prices of different cities.

Competition Competitors in the Segment

The Honda Activa 8G will rival other top-selling scooters in the market namely the TVS Jupiter, Hero Pleasure+, Suzuki Access 125 (if the customer is interested in a bigger engine capacity), and the Yamaha Fascino. In order to remain the market leader, Honda is banking on the legacy and reliability of the Activa to deal with its stiff competitions.
