Renault-Nissan June 2025 Sales Report: Magnite Leads, Triber and Kiger Follow Closely

The Renault-Nissan Alliance has published its vehicle sales figures for June 2025, showcasing varied trends across the compact and entry-level segments in India. Even amid fierce competition in the market, the Renault Magnite and Triber have, on some level, demonstrated a degree of demand resiliency, while some other models showed a conspicuous decrease in consumer interest.

Renault India June 2025 Performance

Renault’s sales performance also suffered in June, when the company sold just 4,377 units. This represents a decline from 5,450 units sold in June 2024, year-on-year drop of 19.7%. This decline appears to signal continued difficulty in sustaining traction with competing brand compact SUVs and hatchbacks in the market.

Magnite Remains the Top Seller

As with the previous months, Renault’s compact SUV Magnite led the company sales in June 2025 with 2,618 units sold. Although this number is slightly lower than 2,678 units sold during the same month last year, it represents a 2.2% decline. Regardless of this small dip, Magnite remains Renault’s most popular model in India, thanks to its reasonable pricing alongside attractive value-for-money equipped features.

Renault Triber Sees Strong Recovery

Renault Triber, the sub-four meter MPV, performs promisingly with unit sales increasing to 1,448 in June, 2025 from 1,118 units a year ago. This marks a 29.5% growth which shows that compact MPVs are gaining traction in both urban and semi-urban pockets. Affordability and the flexible 7-seater configuration are the main contributors to the upward trends observed.

Kiger Sees Notable Decline

Platinum's Kiger, which is derived from the same platform as the Magnite, recorded just 311 units sold in June 2025 marking a staggering 81.8% decline from 1,710 units in June 2024. The sharp decline seems driven by mountening competition with other subcompact SUVs as newer models with better designs and features flood the market.

Kwid Continues Downtrend

Renault’s Kwid continues to decline with only 14 units sold in June 2025. This marks a staggering 97.8% decline from 628 units a year ago. with the growing shift towards compact SUVs and budget electric models, it appears that the Kwid is either being phased out or simply losing demand from buyers.

Nissan India Sales Report Overview for June 2025

Nissan's domestic sales for June 2025 reached 2,108 units. The Magnite continues to be the sole model of focus under the brand’s portfolio, accounting for the entire sales volume. This represents a decline of 20.3% from the 2024 figure of 2,645 units.

Despite the decline, the Magnite continues to be Nissan’s sole volume driver in India. No news has been given on new product launches or upgrades to the existing lineup, which could hinder the brand’s competitiveness in the ever-evolving SUV segment.

Sales Snapshot Overview

In June 2025, the Renault-Nissan Alliance sold a total of 6,485 units in India. While there is growth in the region, there is still a significant lack of development from the competitors that could lead to the alliance losing its dominate position.

With both the Magnite and Triber SUVs still selling decently, it is possible that the alliance will be looking towards facelift versions, enhanced features or electric counterparts in the next few quarters. Both Renault and Nissan have indicated plans for future EVs and new joint models, but nothing official has been published yet.

Conclusion

Renault and Nissan's sales performance for June 2025 marks a shift in preference for buyers in India. Although the Magnite still remains a strong performer for both brands, the sharp drop in Kiger and Kwid sales indicates the need for immediate strategic revisions. The pace of evolution in the Indian automotive market is relentless, and prompt action through product modifications will be imperative if Renault and Nissan aim to retain competitiveness in this challenging market.
