Tata Harrier EV is currently the market in India, and its bookings are open, which stirs up a stir among those interested in cars. This electric SUV is available with a starting price of Rs. 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom) that offers modern design, advanced technology, as well as amazing performance. The SUV features two battery options: 65 kWh battery pack that could be fitted on the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) cars and 75 kWh that could be found on the RWD and AWD cars. There is also a Stealth Edition with four trims, a matte-black finish for a bold premium aesthetics.



Performance and Battery  

Basing its Harrier EV on the Tata company Acti.ve range, EV, the Harrier can offer up to 505 km of real-world range, and the 75 kWh versions can offer up to 627 km of range using ARAI-certified tests. The RWD is equipped with the permanent magnet synchronous motor with a power of 238 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque. Its AWD versions which sport two motors (front induction and rear PMS) generate a combined figure of 313 horsepower and 504 Nm of torque with a 0-100 kmph rating of just 6.3 seconds. The SUV is compatible with 120 kW DC fast charging that gives it 250 km of range in 15 minutes, as well as 3.3 kW, 7.2 kW AC charging.


Specification and Design  

Harrier EV is nearly identical to its diesel version except it has features that are specific to an EV, such as the blanked-out grille, silver vertical slats on the front bumper, and re-designed 19 inch alloy wheels, having aero covers. The cabin on the inside has a contemporary white and grey colour scheme, a 14.5-inch Samsung Neo QLED touchscreen infotainment unit and an electronic digital instrument cluster that measures 10.25 inches in size. Safety, and Utility on the Road Operation  

The Harrier EV is also strong in the safety department as it received 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating. The safety equipment is standard and is composed of six airbags, all-four disc brakes, a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring and a tyre pressure monitoring system. The AWD versions are made to handle harsh terrains and they have a water-wading level of 600 mm and a gradient ability of 47 percent. Its versatility is well supplemented by drive modes such as Eco, City, Sport, and a Boost mode in AWD variants.




Booking Details and Loyalty Bonus  

It is also announcing a loyalty bonus of Rs. 1 lakh of existing Tata EV customers, effectively bringing down the starting price of the base model to only Rs. 20.49 lakh The Harrier EV booking can be done with a token payment of just Rs. 21,000 with authorized dealers or at the online portal of Tata. Certain dealers especially in Mumbai are also offering government supported subsidies on the first 8,000 bookings which could lead to a total benefit of Rs.1.5 lakh. Moreover, customers have the option of taking a free home charger with installation, six months worth of free charging at Tata Power stations (up to 1000 units), and zero down payment schemes, based on their eligibility.




Market Response and Availability

The Harrier EV is already attracting a lot of attention, given that bookings have already topped 10,000 in the first 24 hours of opening. Tata also has started production at its plant in Pune, and it is likely to start delivery in July 2025. The SUV should be accessible to a large number of people, as it is offered in various channels, such as GeM, CSD, and KPKB.
