Redmi 15 Hands-On Review: Big Screen, Huge Battery and True 5G Strength.

Indian Launch (Aug 19, 2025): Xiaomi have launched the new low-price 5G smartphone Redmi 15 5G, which is more superior in terms of features. Its features include 6.9-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, giant 7000 mAh battery, Android-based HyperOS 2.0, and multimedia content and long time usage consumers.

Design & Display

The Redmi 15 5G will have a quad-curved back and smooth finish that comes in Frosted White, Midnight Black and Sandy Purple. Having IP64 splash and dust resistance, it provides a remarkably high-quality appearance at this price category.

It has a 6.9-inch IPS LCD with Full HD+ resolution and up to 144 Hz refresh rate and supports Wet Touch Technology 2.0. It also supports an adaptive refresh feature where it can alternate between 120 Hz and 144 Hz to provide smooth operation and consume less power. Top brightness about 700-850 nits.

Performance & Software

Driving the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 constructed at a 6 nm node that has two Cortex-A78 cores (up to 2.3 GHz) and six Cortex-A55 cores. The combined X51 5G modem allows contemporary connectivity on Indian networks. Ram is available in 6 GB and 8 GB LPDDR4X with optional memory expansion of 16 GB. Storage GB 256 GB, microSD expandable.

The phone is powered by Android 15 with HyperOS 2.0 featuring deep AI integration and Google Gemini services such as Circle to Search. Redmi is offering two big Android updates and four years of updates.

Battery & Charging

The best feature is the battery life. A 7,000 mAh cell made with silicon carbon has multi-day capacity: 2.26 days of light source usage, more than 30 hours of music play or video streaming. Standby mode: Standby mode can be used to make calls and send messages, at only 1% remaining. Even at [?]20 degC, it can be used with Snapdragon technology inside it.

It is available in charging options of 33 W wired fast charge and 18 W reverse wired charge, where the phone can become a power bank and charge other devices. Reverse charging provides about 10 minutes of charge to accessories at small trade-offs in efficiency.

Camera & Multimedia

Rear cameras will have a 50 MP primary (f/1.75) sensor and a second sensor-usually depth or macro. It has an 8 MP sensor (f/2.0) on the front camera. Daytime filming is highly detailed and naturalistic, but the acting at night is poor. Selfies are ok and 1080P 30fps without any cool new stabilization.

Sound is improved using two speakers in stereo mode and an amplification of 200 percent greater than Redmi 13, but in general, the audio sound is comparable with the quality of the given price range.

In-Hand Experience

Big screen: In the real world, the big screen meant something comprehensive to play games and view streaming media, and scrolling was easy on adaptive 144 Hz refresh rate. But outdoor viewing was sometimes harsh under blazing sun.

What a wonderful building at that price: the body of the plastic was matte-finished, and could not have been printed by fingers; and it was solid. It was reported that software did not support DC dimming and this can annoy users with PWM flicker.

Performance in Daily Use

Browsing, social media, messaging and streaming activities worked well without any hitches. Graphically intensive games occasionally dropped frames and showed the mid-range nature of the chipset. AnTuTu scores are about 460K and that puts it squarely in the budget 5G.

AI-powered UI, AI-erase, dynamic shots and Gemini integration provide finish - on higher RAM models and via OTA update.

Price & Availability

It starts in India at [?] 14, 999 (6GB/128GB), [?] 15, 999 (8GB/128GB) and [?] 16, 999 (8GB/256GB). It will be sold in official and online store since August 19, 2025.

In Europe, the base model was listed in Poland at an approximate of Euro 232 (if converted [?]19,000 equivalent) but even there, local prices vary.
