Today is the NEET UG 2025 results. Every year, thousands of students across India vie for a seat in a government or private medical college by appearing for this tough medical entrance examination. What Is NEET UG?

The NEET UG 2025 result has been announced on the official website in the second week of June. Candidates are able to check their scorecard by visiting the official NTA NEET portal and logging in using their application number and date of birth.

Total marks obtained

Percentile score

Marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology semi class wing Constant combinations in physics, chemistry, biology, and biotechnology.

Total Marks

The NEET UG exam is of 720 marks; 4 marks are awarded for each correct answer, and 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.



Percentile Score

The percentile tells you where you rank on that basis relative to other test takers. So you beat 95 percent of the test takers if you scored that.



AIR (All India Rank)

Your score on the AIR decides your national rank. This rank is also very important at the time of counseling for government and private colleges.




NEET UG 2025 Expected Qualifying Cut-Off

Qualifying Cutoff Marks are the minimum marks that a candidate needs to obtain to participate in the counseling. On the basis of reoccurring cut-offs over the past four years, they do not vary much but fluctuate yearly with the change in difficulty level of the paper, number of candidates appearing, and also the overall performance of students in a particular year.

Go to the official website at NEET Login and get the result downloaded. Be sure to save both the PDF and PRINT editions for future reference.



Check Rank and Percentile

Note down your AIR and category rank. This will be needed when you register for counseling.



Prepare for Counselling

Counseling is organized in two directions:

MCC for 15% AIQ

State Counselling Bodies for 85% state quota seats

You’ll have to apply for each separately, depending on your eligibility and preference.



NEET UG 2025 Counselling Process—Step by Step

Step 1: Registration

Students need to enroll on the MCC website for AIQ or on the state medical portal for the state quota seats.



Step 2: Choice Filling

Enter your choice of college and course(s). Sorted in the order of your preference.



Step 3: Seat Allotment

It will be allotted taking your rank, reservation criteria, and college priority opted into account.



Step 4: Reporting

If you are satisfied, then go to the college you've got assigned and submit original certificates and then pay the fees.



Government College MBBS Cutoff (Expected Range)

These are top colleges, and the cut-off could be very different for other government colleges depending on where they are and how famous the college is.


Deemed private medical college cutoff trends

For private colleges, they usually have lower cutoffs, but tuition fees are higher. In private colleges through NEET, the cut-off can vary from 200 to 450, depending upon the state, category, and course.



NEET UG Reservation Criteria

Seat sharing also is determined by reservation policies:


General (unreserved).

OBC: 27% reservation

SC: 15%

ST: 7.5%

EWS: 10%

PwD: 5% of reservations in each category PAY SCALE (basic pay of Rs. 56100/-).

Some or all of those policies could be slightly different under state government rules.



NEET Tie-Breaking Policy

If two or more candidates have obtained the same marks, then the tie is resolved as follows:


Higher marks in biology

Higher marks in chemistry

Fewer incorrect answers


Preference will be given to elder-age candidates.



What if you did not qualify?

Don’t panic if you didn’t crack NEET UG this year. You have options:

Take a year off to prep and prepare more effectively.


Study in the field of allied health sciences such as B.Sc. Nursing, BPT, or BAMS.

Go for an MBBS abroad (but remember to check if the college is NMC approved).
