BMW Motorrad has officially confirmed the India launch of its highly awaited F 450 GS adventure motorcycle on April 23, 2026. The bike will go on sale the same day, giving enthusiasts their first chance to bring home the brand’s new entry-level ADV.

This model replaces the discontinued G 310 GS and represents a big step up for BMW in the mid-capacity adventure segment. Designed and engineered in Germany, the F 450 GS is being manufactured locally at TVS Motor Company’s facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Production kicked off in late November 2025, shortly after the production version made its global debut at EICMA 2025 in Milan.

Expected Pricing and Bookings

Early estimates place the starting price around ₹4 lakh (ex-showroom), though some sources suggest it could stretch closer to ₹4.5–5 lakh depending on the variant. Several BMW Motorrad dealerships in major cities, including Pune, Gurugram, and Chennai, have already started accepting bookings with a token amount of around ₹50,000.

Engine and Performance

Power comes from a newly developed **420cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine** that delivers roughly **47–48 bhp** at 8,750 rpm and **43 Nm** of peak torque at 6,750 rpm. Mated to a six-speed gearbox, the lightweight machine (kerb weight around 178 kg) promises lively performance and a claimed top speed near 165 kmph. Riders can expect strong low-to-mid-range punch along with smooth highway manners.

Chassis, Suspension and Brakes

The F 450 GS rides on a tubular steel frame with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. Buyers will have the choice of tubeless alloy wheels or optional cross-spoke rims for more serious off-road use. Suspension is handled by KYB upside-down forks upfront and a rear monoshock with adjustable preload and rebound damping, offering generous wheel travel.

Braking duties are managed by disc brakes at both ends, backed by a suite of electronic aids including cornering ABS, traction control, and multiple riding modes.

Key Features and Rider Aids

The motorcycle comes packed with premium touches for its class:

-Ride Modes— Rain, Road, Enduro, and Enduro Pro

- Dynamic Traction Control (DTC)

- Easy Ride Clutch and Dynamic Brake Control

- A crisp 6.5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity for navigation, music, and calls

- Full LED lighting with a distinctive “X” daytime running light signature

Seat height is set at 845 mm as standard, with optional lower (830 mm) and higher (865 mm) seat options to suit different rider heights.

Market Positioning

BMW is positioning the F 450 GS as a versatile all-rounder capable of tackling daily commutes, weekend tours, and light-to-moderate off-road trails. It will go up against strong rivals like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 KTM 390 Adventure, and possibly a few other mid-weight options.

With local production, BMW aims to offer strong value while preserving the build quality and refinement the GS badge is famous for. The company has already begun teasing the launch on social media, and excitement is building fast among Indian adventure enthusiasts.

More concrete details on exact pricing, full variant lineup (expected to include Basic, Exclusive, Sport, and Trophy versions), colour options, and final specifications should surface in the coming days. April 23 is shaping up to be an exciting date for two-wheeler fans across the country.
