Indian bikers are preparing to have an exciting time as the premium brands are preparing to launch new big bikes.
Indians in the ever-increasing motorcycling market are set to have a tasty few weeks, as some of the major two-wheeler manufacturers are about to launch new products in the high-end market.
Triumph Motorcycles, Classic Legends (the Mahindra-supported group that operates Jawa, Yezdi and BSA) and BMW Motorrad are all likely to launch new big bikes in the near future, offering new choices to riders choosing to be performance-oriented, classic-looking and adventure-oriented.
Triumph has already caused ripples earlier this month with the launch of its updated 350cc platform in India - which is basically a smaller version of its successful 400cc platform so that it can enjoy favourable taxation. The like models like the re-engineered Speed, Scrambler and Tracker models have come with polished single-cylinder power-plants, reduced kerb weights and affordable costs, yet with the same brand signature.
The British manufacturer is also a participant of a significantly wider world-wide offensive of Triumph Unleashed 2026, that also incorporates dozens of new and revised models worldwide over the year. More Bonne ville family and addition to other lines are expected subsequently in 2026 in India.
Meanwhile, Classic Legends will mark its presence with at least one -and maybe two-new scrambler-style motorcycles on 23 April. Reports have indicated a new Yezdi Scrambler and the possibility of the introduction of the BSA Scrambler 650 in India, which would give the 650cc platform a more adventure-oriented spin on the 650cc platform already existing in the BSA Goldstar. The launches are part of the larger initiative of the company to increase its retro-moderns range and increase its network of dealers.
BMW Motorrad is making adequate preparations as well. The German company is due to roll out its brand new F 450 GS adventure motorcycle on 23 April and this will mark the introduction of a middle-capacity twin-cylinder platform that will help to expand the target of the premium segment in India. BMW Group has announced grand strategies of launching several two-wheeler in India in 2026 as part of a more extensive product attack that encompasses cars and other models.
These upcoming launches are at a time when the market of premium motorcycles in India is on the rise due to the increasing disposable income, and the growing demand of lifestyle and performance machines. The brands are reacting with both more accessible middleweight models and larger-capacity bikes with increased aspirations.
The timing, with a concentration around late April, the industry observers say, may serve to generate buzz before the riding season, providing enthusiasts with ample to look forward to at dealerships and in the weeks ahead, at riding launch events.
The manufacturers are likely to specify the details, price and precise availability in other days.
